“You’re All I Need” is the third and final single from Mötley Crüe’s 1987 album Girls, Girls, Girls. The song’s lyrics describe a demented young man kidnapping and murdering the woman he’s enamoured with because she doesn’t return his affections. It is said to have been written about Nikki Sixx’s then-girlfriend, whom he believed cheated on him with actor Jack Wagner. Wagner had previously released a song titled “All I Need”.
“You’re All I Need” charted at 83 on the US charts and was praised by Jon Bon Jovi as “the best ballad Mötley Crüe have ever written.” Sixx was said to have laughed when he was informed of this due to the song’s gruesome meaning.
